The Jenison Band Boosters will be selling our soon-to-be retired uniform jackets to current students, alumni, and parents who are interested. The jackets will be offered first to current students who may choose to purchase their own jacket. Remaining jackets will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Reminder: Marching Band Deposit due Friday May 25
In order for us to plan properly, the absolute deadline to commit to next year's marching band is next Friday, May 25. Along with the Payment Agreement Form, the $150 deposit is also due at that time. PDF copies of this form can be found on the Downloads Page.

The Grand Valley Winds and the h2 Saxophone Quartet perform for the Jenison Bands
Thank you very much to the GVSU Winds Woodwind Quintet and the h2 Saxophone Quartet, who performed for the Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony on Friday.
Jenison Band Students to perform with Opera Grand Rapids
(Pictured above from left to right:) Alex Huizen, Lexi Russ, Shawn Nichols, Katherine Searcy, Kyle Fannon, and Taylor Hubbard will be joining the cast of Opera Grand Rapids in their production of Puccini's La Boéme at Devos Hall on May 4 and 5. Opera Grand Rapids is a professional opera company that includes auditioned musicians from across the country. The company produces three operas each year, under the direction of Artistic Director Robert Lyall.
Opera Grand Rapids contacted the Jenison Band program, looking for extras to act as an on-stage marching band in the second act of La Bohéme.

The Varsity Winter Guard made a smashing debut at the Winter Guard International World Championships this weekend in Dayton Ohio. The guard's performance on Thursday afternoon earned them a prestigious spot in the Semi-Final Round on Friday morning. With a stunning final performance of "Masquerade," the Jenison Winter Guard scored an 82.0 which placed them 33rd out of 104 in the Scholastic A class. Over 150 JHS Band, Choir, and Orchestra students cheered on the girls in the Band Room Friday morning, as they watched this performance live via WGI webcast.
The Jenison Band Family could not be more proud of the hard work of these young ladies, their dedicated staff, and committed group of parents and volunteers. Congratulations to all!
Devin Bosch and Alena Kenyon to perform with BOA Honor Band at the 2013 Rose Bowl Parade
Congratulations to Jenison Band members Devin Bosch (Bass Clarinet) and Alena Kenyon (Clarinet) who were chosen to perform as members of the 300 member Bands of America Honor Marching Band at the 2013 Rose Bowl Parade. Both of these students completed an extensive audition process to receive this distinct honor. The Jenison Bands and Jenison Public Schools will be represented well by these two great students! Congratulations!
Jenison Winter Guards, 2012 MCGC State Champions!
Congratulations to the Jenison Winter Guards who were named MCGC State Champions on Saturday, March 31. This marked the 3rd consecutive title in the Scholastic A class for the Varsity Guard. The JV Guard had an undefeated season in AA class, and was also promoted to Scholastic A with their State Championship score. Congratulations to all of the students, staff, parents, and administration for your hard work and support!
Congratulations Britt Watrous!
As a result of his outstanding performance at the MSBOA State Solo & Ensemble Festival held on March 24, senior Britt Watrous was nominated to audition for a Michigan Youth Arts Festival (MYAF) Concerto Soloist spot. This is a huge recognition, and is the first time a Jenison student has been so honored in many years. Congratulations Britt, and good luck at the upcoming audition!

THANK YOU to the Jenison School Board Members, Administration, and Band Boosters for approving the purchase of new marching band uniforms for next year! Mr. Zamborsky and Mr. York have been working with legendary uniform designer Michael Cesario and Fred J. Miller Inc. to create a modern new look for the Jenison Marching Band.
